After we left the venue yesterday we drove to Brooklyn to visit with my brother Randy and his son Nick. As always, Randy was extremely accomodating. He even arose early to save me two parking spaces so I could park Destiny out of harms way. Though it took us a while to get there through city traffic it was far more pleasant that the drive through Chicago by far.

After showering, what a thrill, we headed out to Manhattan to check out NYU (on my list) and get a bit to eat.

NYU has no campus to speak of; in fact Nick is displeased with the fact that the school is spralling in all directions gentrifying the neighborhood and altering the Grenetch (SP?) Village vibe. Where there was once a neighborhood dog run there is now an uppity landscaped area. I laughed when Nick added that he thought they had re-centered the fountain area in order for Google Maps to be able to map it more procisely. Pretty interesting theory.
