The cemetary is really old. You go down the hill, hang a left at the Confederate grave yard and there is Dwayne and Raymond Barry Oakley (Almond brother band member) side by side in a well appointed grave site with black wrought iron fencing surrounding pristine white marble grave markers. Double G discovered the hard way that the top of the fence was covered in axel grease to discourage fence climbers. He wasn't climbing, just resting his hands. The whole scene was touching; the sun setting, the crickets (?) chirping and the four of us processing it all.
As we were leaving, another group of Warped Tour guys were walking down the hill. They were having a good time too.
So out of slight parking lot Marilyn rage came a new friendship and a fun spontaneous adventure. Alec will have to be sure to tell Kevin Lyman that Double G was gracious enough to take us out to Dwayne's grave site. Again, there is a loyalty and bond between the Warped Family that eminates from Kevin Lyman. Everyone is so happy working for him and truly enjoys being part of this special scene. It translates into these generous moments given to us. People are happy and so they are happy to share their grace with us. It is inspiring; I hope our new Principal at Miramonte has this sort of spirit. I can hope...
